Moccia presents levy update to South Whidbey School Board

A pair of likely levies will be presented to the South Whidbey School Board tonight.

Superintendent Jo Moccia is scheduled to report on drafts for a maintenance and operations levy and a capital levy.

The school board will also review a pair of memos. One will increase the debt service fund appropriation and one urges Congress to amend a piece of legislation that imposes major spending cuts, including education. The debt service fund memo petitions the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to increase South Whidbey’s debt service fund appropriation from $0 to $80,616. The resolution to amend the Budget Control Act of 2011 which imposed $1.2 trillion of cuts to federal programs.

The business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28. School board meetings are held in the board room at the South Whidbey Primary Campus, located at 5476 S. Maxwelton Road.
