Enrollment drops in South Whidbey schools, still over budget

Fewer students are attending classes in the South Whidbey School District.

Overall, the one-year change from 2011 to this school year is about fewer less. There are still more students than the district budgeted for, especially at the high school. The district planned for about 475 students from ninth to 12th grade, and the year-to-date average is 511.58 high schoolers. South Whidbey budgeted for a district-wide total of 1,386 students and has 1,413.
