Winery Island Winery takes second place

Whidbey Island Winery in Langley took an impressive second place in the KING TV Evening Magazine contest called “The Best of Western Washington.”

First place went to Chateau Ste. Michelle near Seattle.

“We’re feeling a lot like winners,” said the Whidbey Island Winery owners Greg and Elizabeth Osenbach, who also credited 10-year employee Leah Waaramaki who holds the position of assistant winemaker. “We’re pleased that our family winery finished second to Washington’s largest winery. Thank you all for your continued support.”

On KING’s website, Whidbey Island Winery was cited for its diversity of wines, from its crisp fragrant estate wines to lighthearted rhubarb wine and classic reds and whites.

Westport Winery took third, Alexandria Nicole Cellars above the Columbia River fourth, and Columbia Winery in Woodinville placed fifth in the voting.
