South Whidbey school calendar work continues

Negotiations between the South Whidbey School District and the unions over the 2013-2014 school year are ongoing.

Superintendent Jo Moccia reported to the school board Wednesday that all parties are willing to consider a different structure. However, as Moccia noted, she was reminded that there are only a few months of clear, warm weather in Western Washington, which is highly valued time for family trips.

Currently, next year’s school calendar is similar to this year in terms of when school breaks occur, such as winter or spring break.
