Relaxation starts upon entering the Island Rose Skin Care Retreat in Langley.
The serene atmosphere and the smell of lavender and vanilla in the air invite customers to leave their stress at the door and dive into a relaxing mind and body experience.
Island Rose is a sanctuary of harmony and healing where people can come for a sacred moment in their busy lives to rejuvenate physically, emotionally and spiritually, said owner Anne Mayes.
We also bring some of the latest Western technologies available in the ever-expanding world of esthetics to enhance the effectiveness of your personalized treatments, she said.
Customers enjoy facial and spa treatments. Mayes offers candling, waxing and tinting. Her latest services include foot treatments, Revitalize Your Eyes, facial toning and lymphatic drainage.
And recently, Mayes added another facet to her business. She launched her own skin care line, Island Rose Skin Care.
The new product line is all natural with little preservatives and incorporates botanicals, minerals and vitamins for maximum effectiveness without ingredients that may irritate.
Some labs deal with small businesses like mine, she said. They enabled her to customize a skin care line to best serve her needs and her clients.
It also helps save money. By cutting out the middle man and keeping packaging simple, Mayes can offer top-of-the-line products at a great price.
People with skin problems such as acne need special attention and great home treatment, she said. By creating her own line she made effective treatment affordable for everybody, including teenagers, she said.
In the future, Mayes said she will add a make-up line as well.
People dont have to get off the island to get great products, she said.
Advanced skin care, anti-aging techniques and effective, affordable facial products are all at your fingertips at Island Rose Skin Care.
Island Rose Skin Care is a spa for every need. Whether you are seeking a treat for day or need assistance with serious skin conditions, Mayes can offer it all with confidence, care and technical expertise.
Mayes said she is committed to both the esthetic and the esoteric aspects of these services.
Prior to her training in esthetics, she studied healing and energy techniques, including Black Hat Sect Feng Shui, Space Clearing, Healing Touch, Reiki and Dr. Eric Pearls Reconnection Techniques, Sound Therapy, Flower Essences, and Gary Zukavs Emotional Awareness program.
Combining these interests with esthetics has enabled me to envision a unique approach to skin care and personal wellness, which I am very excited to bring to Whidbey Island, she said.
