Langley City Councilman Doug Allderdice resigned Wednesday during the council's regular meeting after six years of service to the community.

Allderdice said his job has changed and it doesn't give him the time he needs for city council work anymore.

Mayor Neil Colburn thanked Allerdice for his dedication and said he will "be sorely missed."

The city will go through the process to find someone who can serve in Allerdice's position until voters pick a replacement during the general election in November 2007.
