Santa visits ski club
June 25, 2008 · Updated 6:22 PM
The magic of Christmas showed on the faces of the Cariboo Ski Touring Clubs jackrabbits when Santa skate skied down into the stadium area with a sack full of presents Dec. 18.
Santa, whose sleigh and reindeer couldnt make it, skied the entire distance from the North Pole that day in his third annual visit to the jackrabbits in Quesnel.
Youth aged four to 13 congregated at the Christmas tree under the lights when they heard his bell and saw Santa and his elf helper skiing down Fir Tree Hill.
After his long ski to Quesnel, Santa still had enough energy to take the jackrabbits for another trek before he headed back North - home to finish getting ready for Christmas.
The Christmas Party was the fourth jackrabbit session this season and the program continues through the winter most Saturday afternoons and some Monday nights until spring.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the excellent ski conditions.
