High Whidbey winds topple trees, damage car

December 28, 2012 · Updated 2:43 PM

High winds Wednesday night knocked down a couple of trees, one onto a car.

No injuries related to falling trees or branches were reported.

“They were some fairly good-sized trees,” said South Whidbey Fire/EMS Deputy Chief Jon Beck.

One tree fell onto a car on Mutiny Bay Road near Bounty Loop in Freeland. The branches struck the car, but none of the passengers or driver were injured.

Another tree fell on Scatchet Head Road and had to be removed.
