Greenbank Farm's future crux of port meeting
January 1, 2013 · 4:42 PM
A volunteer committee examining the operations of the Greenbank Farm will make its recommendations during a special meeting today about how the publicly owned farm should be managed.
That meeting takes place at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Coupeville Public Library.
The committee has worked for six months researching the farm’s operations and writing recommendations about how the farm should be operated after the contract with the Greenbank Farm Management Group expires.
That contract ends March 31, 2014.
The group made news last fall when its original chairwoman, Georgia Gardner, resigned and notified the management group of possible financial irregularities and inconsistencies.
The Port of Coupeville, which owns the farm, hired its accountant, Freeland’s Chuck Edwards and Associates, to investigate.
