It’s voter registration time to vote in upcoming special elections.

The South Whidbey School District is among a number of school, fire, EMS, park, cemetery and transportation districts throughout Washington that will hold elections on Feb. 12 to vote on special levies. Thirty-two of Washington’s 39 counties have a special election that day, according to Brian Zylstra of the Secretary of State’s office.

For the February elections, Monday, Jan. 14, is the last day to register to vote or update voter registration information by mail or online. Feb. 4 is the deadline for in-person registration for new Washington voters. Locally, visit the Island County Auditor’s Office in Coupeville.
