Water system flush coming to Langley

February 5, 2013 · Updated 3:20 PM

Langley’s water system will be flushed from Feb. 5 to Feb. 7, depending on the weather.

The system is flushed to clear residue that accumulates inside the water lines. Low pressure and discoloration may occur because of the work. Discoloration does not present any health hazards, according to the city’s notice. If the water turns brown, run water through the bathtub or outdoor spigot until it runs clear. Also make sure the water in a washing machine runs clear before doing laundry.

Select fire hydrants will be opened for a short period of time, and city officials urged people to stay clear of the area and drive with caution for the safety of Langley’s public works crew.

Call the city at 221-4246 for more information.
