The Coast Guard is searching for a missing diver near Deception Pass.

Coast Guard officials said that about 2 p.m. today, Skagit County Fire Rescue received a call about a woman who was diving near Rosario Beach but had failed to return to the surface.

The Coast Guard launched a rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Port Angeles, two 33-foot rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Station Bellingham and a Coast Guard Auxiliary rescue boat crew to search for the missing diver.

A rescue helicopter crew from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor has also joined in the search.
