Republican Reece Rose filed as a candidate in the District 1, Island County commissioner's race on Friday afternoon.

Rose is now the fourth candidate in the race. She joins fellow Republican Phil Bakke, the incumbent, Democrat Helen Price Johnson and unaffiliated candidate Curt Gordon.

Rose ran for the District 1 position in 2003 but lost to Republican Mike Shelton. She vowed to run again soon after her loss, and filed paperwork with the state in February 2004 as a candidate in the 2008 race.

Bakke replaced Shelton, who resigned last year to take a job in Olympia.
