Time change means later Navy flights on Central Whidbey

March 12, 2013 · Updated 5:53 PM

No Field Carrier Landing Practice operations for aircraft stationed at NAS Whidbey Island are scheduled to occur at the Outlying Field south of Coupeville through March 18.

Residents throughout the local area are advised in a Navy news release that they should be aware that the change in Daylight Savings Time on March 10 lengthens flight training times for pilots assigned to squadrons at NAS Whidbey Island.

This means that flight operations will often extend into later hours at night through the spring, summer and early autumn.

Updates or changes in operations at OLF Coupeville may be found on NAS Whidbey Island’s Facebook page.
