Langley Middle School sixth grader heads to state bee

Carli Newman qualified for Washington’s statewide National Geographic geography bee.

Just a sixth-grade student, Carli outlasted and outwitted her fellow Langley Middle School contestants to win the school bee in January. She qualified for the state bee April 5 at Pacific Lutheran University by taking a written test. Carli will compete against other middle school winners.
