Falcon basketball leads into millennium

"Is your holiday vacation getting a little long and tedious without regular doses of Falcon basketball? Fear not, for the Falcons play today (and tomorrow).This week’s Falcon Classic basketball tournament will be the last of the second millennium, but hopefully the first step in a long winning streak for all the Falcon teams.Play begins today at 1 p.m. in the high school’s auxiliary gym when Coupeville’s junior varsity boys play Lynnwood. South Whidbey’s JV boys play in a 2:30 p.m. game against Lakeside in the same location. The Falcon JV girls play in the fifth game of the day, taking on Lynnwood at 4:15 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.For varsity action, Falcon fans need only wait until 6:15 p.m., when the boys face off against Lakeside. The girls varsity team plays Lynnwood in the final game of the day at 8 p.m. Both varsity games will be held in the main gym.On Thursday, the game order will be determined by wins and losses in the previous game. The schedule is as follows.Junior varsity girls1 p.m. (Main gym) Winners of games 3 and 51 p.m. (Aux. gym) Losers of games 3 and 5Junior varsity boys2:30 p.m. (LMS gym) Losers of games 1 and 22:30 p.m. (Aux. gym) Winners of games 1 and 2Varsity girls2:30 p.m. (Main gym) Losers of games 6 and 86:15 p.m. (Main gym) Winners of games 6 and 8Varsity boys4:15 p.m. (Main gym) Losers of games 4 and 78 p.m. (Main gym) Winners of games 4 and 7"
