"Swing into spring with the High School Jazz Band next Friday, March 10. This is an annual fund raising event put on by the music department. There will be a grand supper with Alaska salmon or Italian spaghetti for entrees. A raffle is going on for great prizes, including a Georgia Gerber bronze. All band students have tickets for sale, or contact Brent Purvis at 221-4300 ext. 5355.Everett CC parents' night is on March 9. Parents and students are invited to attend an informational session at the community college focusing on post high school decisions. Topics such as how to get started, using community college as a stepping stone for transfer, financial aid and more will be covered at the meeting from 6:15-8:30 p.m. Call 425-388-9222 for more information. Scholarships for Skagit Valley College are being offered for students majoring in community service, home economics, leadership, health care, agriculture, music and art. Applications are in the career center and are due April 17. $1,000 in scholarship money is available for two students through the President's Student Service Challenge. There is no minimum GPA required. To be eligible, students must have contributed at least 100 hours of service within the community within the past 12 months and be a junior or senior. Let Judy Burnett or Diana Shirley know if your student would like to be nominated. Deadline is April 1. "
