"Playing the role of rude hosts, the Sultan Turks greeted the Falcon baseball team with seven runs in the first inning Tuesday to quickly remove any potential drama from the game.Eventually the Turks went on to win 15-8, dropping South Whidbey's overall record to 0-3 in league and 1-5 overall. The Falcons did produce some offense, however. Mr. Double, Kevin Arndt, collected another pair of two baggers, a feat duplicated by Jesse Sitton. Nick Lamb stroked a double and, for a change of pace, Arndt pounded out a home run. But even that much power was insufficient to gain ground on the scoreboard. The loss went to starting pitcher Jimmy Davis. South Whidbey totaled 13 hits but was hurt by four errors. Sultan erred twice while collecting 14 hits. The Turk are now 1-0 in league and 4-1 overall. The Falcons will spend their spring break playing baseball. Monday they travel to Lakewood, Wednesday they host Lakewood, and Friday they welcome Mount Baker."
