Workshop teaches college funding 101

"A fast paced, 60 minute workshop set for April 10 will include critical information to parents about funding their children's college education. Sponsored by SWEPTA and LMS PTSA, Strategies for Funding Your Children's Education will be held at 7 p.m. at the high school Commons.Find out important information on:* How the 1997 Tax Payer Relief Act may affect college planning* The five myths about paying for college* Understanding financial aid calculations* Evaluating appropriate investments for college* Tax and gifting implications which could work against you* How to make realistic plans for sending children to college* Turnkey materials to make college funding a part of your planning strategyThe seminar will be presented by Cynthia Bogatski and Deane Cook, personal financial advisors. A joint general meeting for both PTA associations will precede the seminar at 6:30 p.m., with a full agenda and plenty of treats. Call Linda DeFouw at 221-2254 with questions."
