Iac Music Scholarships awarded

"The Island Arts Council music scholarship awards were presented at the May 3 Youth in Arts Concert at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. Four awards of $250 each were given to students with proven musical commitment and dedication in their study of strings, voice or piano, plus genuine financial need.This year's recipients are Sierra Currie, a piano student of Maureen Rorex; Nashua Compton, piano student of Marissa LaRue; Rowan Firethorne, a violin student with Linda Good; and Gina Biggs, who studies theory and composition with Brent Purvis and voice with Nancy Nolan.For more information about these scholarships call Linda Good, 221-6439."
