"The South Whidbey Senior Little League Red Sox defeated the South Skagit team 9-0 Saturday to set up the tournament championship game.Fresh off a no-hitter against the North Whidbey team earlier in the week, Sox hurler Brian Wenker threw a 1-hit, 11-strikeout, shut-out against South Skagit. Brandon Hern made two sensational defensive plays, the first coming on a great catch and throw home to keep a runner on third base in the fifth inning. The second defensive gem came in the sixth when, on a base hit to left, Hern hit the cutoff man John Coleman, who relayed the throw home to catcher Chris Hahn who blocked the plate and tagged the runner out.At the plate for the Red Sox Andrew Mathis was 2-for-2 with two doubles. Also collecting two hits each were Brady Switzer and Wenker. The Sox were scheduled to play for their fourth straight tournament championship game on Monday."
