"The Hundred Mile Days bikers are expected to roll into Langley on Wednesday, Aug. 9. George Pinky Nelson and Ryan Arndt left Madam Organ's Tavern in Washington, D.C. on July 1, 2000, and have spent the past five weeks bicycling cross-country. Accompanying them are Susie Nelson and Melissa Pugh, who have been tooling west in Melissa's bright red Porsche convertible. The original arrival date for their Cross Country Quest was set for Aug. 14. But the bikers have exceeded their goal of 100 miles a day during the 3,500-mile trip. The group is expected to arrive at The Dog House Tavern in Langley between 2 and 4 p.m. today. Their last major push is Washington Pass in the North Cascades, before coasting into Concrete. Well-wishers are invited to join in celebrating the completion of this tavern-to-tavern adventure. For details on their journey, log onto www.100miledays.com/. "
