Bahia closes Freestock concert series

"Photo: Bahia is the final performer in the Freestock concert at Freeland Park on Saturday.The lawns at Freeland Park will echo with the high energy and contagious sounds of Latin and world music when Bahia, one of the island's favorite groups, plays the last concert Aug. 19 for Freestock, the free music series sponsored by the Freeland Chamber of Commerce.The band plays from 1-3 p.m. (Concert will be canceled in case of rain.) Two previous concerts, featuring Beverly Graham, the Whidbey Island Marimba Band and the trio Artemis, drew enthusiastic crowds to the sunny, friendly shores of Holmes Harbor. Bring a picnic basket and a blanket or chair.Underwriting for the concerts has been provided by the Port District of South Whidbey Island, Payless Market, Nichols Brothers Boat Builders and Pemco Insurance. "
