Hedgebrook will open its doors in special event

"Photo: One of the writer's cottages at Hedgebrook, the women writers' retreat outside of Langley. The public is invited to tour the retreat on Sunday. Hedgebrook, a retreat for women writers, invites the community to its annual open house on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 2-5 p.m.Tours of the retreat land, with views of Admiralty Inlet, will showcase the fields, ponds, forest, large organic gardens and one of Hedgebrook's handcrafted writer's cottages. Hedgebrook alumnae authors will read from their works, and visitors will be treated to an array of foods prepared by staff chefs, who use seasonal and organic foods from the retreat's gardens.Hedgebrook is located at 2197 E. Millman Rd., west of the highway off Double Bluff Road and just south of Freeland.To RSVP and get more information, call 321-4786. "
