Head-on injures Greenbank woman

"A deputy collects information after the wreck on Smuggler's Cove Road.Photo by Alan BixbyA Greenbank woman was badly injured and her pet poodle killed when she collided head-on with another car on Smugglers Cove Road Wednesday.According to a report filed by the Washington State Patrol, Marguerite Jacobson, 81, was traveling northbound on Smugglers Cove Road at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday when she crossed over the center line. A 1986 Ford Econoline van driven by Kent Liston, 46, also of Greenbank, was traveling toward her car in the southbound land. Liston attempted to swerve away from Jacobson's car, but the two cars struck head-on.Jacobson was treated at the scene for a fractured leg and a fractured neck. She was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Her pet poodle, which was in her 1991 Chevrolet Lumina van with her, was killed in the crash. Liston was treated for a cut finger. He was not transported to the hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles were listed as total losses. "
