Comedy championship semi-finals come to Teddy's

"After two weeks of intense competition, 10 comedians have been selected as semifinalists in the $10,000 21st annual Seattle International Comedy Competition, the second oldest such event in the country. The semi-finals are coming to Teddy's on Whidbey on Friday, Nov. 17. The show starts at 9 p.m., with doors opening at 8:30. The elaborate month-long Laff Off consists of 21 shows over 24 nights in 16 different locations. The competition runs throughout November all over the Puget Sound area. Then, the top five acts from each preliminary group advance to a semi-final round, also six nights at a different venue each night, including Teddy's. Freeland's own David Crowe will present the fast-rising acts as they vie for career advancement and a share of the cash purse of $10,000.Advance tickets are on sale for $10 at Teddy's.
