Celtic music in concert at South Whidbey High School

"The Tiller's Folly will bring a taste of Canadian Celtic to South Whidbey High School in a concert on Thursday.South Whidbey High School's performing arts center is the venue for Concerts on the Cove's next event on Nov. 16, when the Tiller's Folly will play traditional and contemporary Celtic music and dance. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. They are available on the Southend at Freeland's BookBay, Moonraker in Langley, The Tartan Thistle in Bayview, and the Clinton CyberC@fe.The Tiller's Folly has been called a cross between Stan Rodgers and The Clancy Brothers. Mixing new and old styles, it is presently on a crusade to celebrate British Columbia's dramatic history through song, weaving the tales of Canada's West Coast into lively Celtic compositions.Joining the Tillers' Folly are two world-class Irish dancers performing a range of dance styles, from slip jigs to the rhythmic treble reels and hard-shoe thunder made popular by Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
