Driver injured yielding to emergency vehicle

"A Greenbank driver was injured Monday in an accident that happened after he pulled over to let an emergency vehicle pass.According to the Washington State Patrol, Leo Klobertanz, 80, was northbound on HIghway 20 near Parker Road when he stopped on the shoulder to yield to an emergency vehicle with its lights and siren activated. A vehicle behind him driven by Samantha Welshans, 31, of Olympia, failed to yield to the emergency vehicle and struck Klobertanz's vehicle in the rear.Klobertanz complained of back pain and was taken by aid car to Whidbey General. His 1985 Cadillac suffered an estimated $3,000 in damage. Welshans was treated at the scene for a laceration to her heel. Her 1990 Nissan Pathfinder sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage. "
