More flu shots offered this week

"Island County Health Department has scheduled two more flu shot clinics: Thursday, Dec. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Coupeville Recreation Hall, NW Alexander Street in Coupeville: and Wednesday, Dec. 27, 10a.m.-1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland. Officials say they will have plenty of flu vaccine to go around and urged people not to brave the cold temperatures waiting in line.After this schedule has been completed, the Health Department will continue giving shots while supplies last on Tuesdays from 1- 5 p.m. at South Whidbey Community Health in Langley; Mondays, 1-5 p.m. at 410 N. Main in Coupeville; and Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. at the North Whidbey Resource Center in Oak Harbor. Shots are $12. Persons with Medicare B or Medicaid will not be charged but must present their cards or coupons at the time of service.Southenders can also receive shots at the Korner Pharmacy in Ken's Korner Mall, which will administer flu vaccine on Saturday, Dec. 23, from noon-4 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 26 and 27, from 1-5 p.m. "
