"Kids in South Whidbey Primary School got ready for the holidays by creating art works to be given to their parents as gifts. The pieces included drawings, paintings, clay and other media, all made with lots of thought and a great deal of imagination. Talon Jorgensen, who is in Mrs. Garl's multi-age class of first- and second-graders, painted a watercolor of a house with candy canes by the front door. First grader Vica Radisch, in Mrs. Wills' class, also did a painting, using watercolor to depict a snowman in winter. The kids also drew pictures of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus, the Nutcracker and holiday wreaths; made stained glass trees and bells; even crafted clay pottery. The youthful artists took their art home on Tuesday, the last day of school.
