"Even with the help of search dogs, divers, boats and search parties, Island County Sheriff's personnel have been unable to find a Lagoon Point man reported missing several days before Christmas.Sheriff's detectives called off a three-day search for 49-year-old Carl Jesberg Saturday after combing the beaches and waters between Useless Bay and Lake Hancock. Detective Sgt. Russ Lindner said Tuesday that law enforcement used dogs to sniff the area around Lagoon Point's canals and even put divers in the water at one point to look for a body. The divers found nothing.Jesberg was reported missing last week after his wife received a letter from him that could be construed as a suicide note. Sheriff's personnel began looking for the 5-foot, 9-inch, 145-pound Jesberg Thursday afternoon, but -had found no trace of him as of Saturday afternoon. Jesberg was last seen by neighbors on Dec. 21 as he moved around his home. Anyone with information as to Jesberg's whereabouts is encouraged to call Detective Mike Birchfield at 321-4400. "
