"A Granite Falls two-bagger in the final inning made the difference in South Whidbey's North Cascades Conference baseball opener Tuesday afternoon on the island diamond. The Falcons dropped the game to the Tigers in a hard fought battle 5-3. In a back and forth game the Tigers picked up a run in the first inning that stood up until the Falcons tied it in the fourth inning. Granite Falls came right back to reclaim the lead in the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the 5th Brady Switzer picked up a one out single, then stole second and was brought home by Jim Davis' second single of three on the day. The Tigers then came up with the winning run in the top of the seventh when Alex Emery doubled home the winning run for the Tigers. The Falcons were led again on the mound by another super outing by Bryan Wenker. Wenker went six very strong innings, striking out six and walking only one. Caden Russell pitched the seventh. At the plate the Falcons were again led by a 3 for 4 performance from Jim Davis. "
