"Derrick Cameron is one of five comics performing in Komics for Kids on Saturday. Five comedians from all over the Pacific Northwest will be donating their time and talent this weekend in Komics For Kids, a new benefit for the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, with shows for both young people and adults at Teddy's on Whidbey in Freeland. Headliner Kermit Holiday, billed as the World's Skinniest Comic, will be joined by hot new comedian Derrick Cameron, who is fresh off his premiere performance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that aired Friday, March 16. Other performers will include Troy Thirdgill and Brad Upton. The two shows on Saturday, March 31 start with a PG16 performance (non-smoking, non-alcohol) at 7 p.m. The adult show begins at 9 p.m. The benefit is being organized by Comedy West, a Freeland-based agency representing comedians throughout the country. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $6 for youth ages 16-18. All proceeds benefit the local Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. For tickets and information, call Teddy's at 331-2882. "
