Easter services celebrate a special season

"ST. HUBERT CATHOLIC CHURCH in Langley begins its observance of Holy Week the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, the celebration of the Passion will also take place at 7 p.m. The church is open all day Friday and Saturday for meditation and reflection.On Holy Saturday, there will be confessions from 3-3:30 p.m., with an Easter Vigil Mass held at 9 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 9 and 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 15. ST. AUGUSTINE'S-IN-THE-WOODS EPISCOPAL CHURCH prepares for Easter with special services through this week. Maundy Thursday, April 12, will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. The congregation will take part in the symbolic washing of the feet and share in the Eucharistic meal. Parishioners will keep watch during an All Night Vigil. On Good Friday the 7:30 p.m. service will include the Way of the Cross and the Passion in the words of the Gospel of John. On Saturday, April 14, at 8 p.m. three congregations will come together to celebrate the ancient Easter Vigil service, one of the earliest services celebrated by the Christian Church. Preaching at this ancient liturgy of the will be the Rev. Nigel J. LANGLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will host a Passover Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 at the church. Tim Jensen speaks on the topic, Easter, Again? on Sunday, April 15, asking the questions, Is Easter simply a spring holiday about blooming flowers and the consumption of chocolate? Or is there a deeper message about the renewal of life which we too can share?The UUCWI meets at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in the first sanctuary. Children's religious education for grades K-5 runs simultaneous to the service, and childcare is available for ages 0-5. "
