Sox extend winning streak

"The South Whidbey Senior Boys Little League team took two games from one of the South Skagit teams Saturday to improve their record to 5 wins and 0 losses.The Red Sox scored two runs in the first inning that proved to be enough as the local boys held on to win 2-1. Bryan Wenker threw a complete game, giving up only 5 hits while striking out 10 in a pitchers' duel. Eric Flister went 2 for 3 at the plate while Adam Jennings' bunt for a base hit in the first inning set up the two runs scored.The second game featured Ben Schultz going the distance, giving up 1 earned run and 6 hits while striking out 7 for the complete game victory with the final score 7-5. Hitting star of the game was to Danny Mulcahy who went 3 for 4 with a double.This Saturday the Sox play another Skagit team that some are calling the favorite to win the league title. Game time is 11 a.m. "
