Rotary begins annual berry sale

"The South Whidbey Rotary Club is again selling strawberries, raspberries and blueberries this summer in its annual fund-raiser to help support community organizations and projects. Strawberries are sold washed, stemmed, sliced and unsweetened in covered plastic pails. They can be served fresh, or preserved for the winter by canning or freezing. Strawberry delivery date is Saturday, June 30 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bayview Farmers Market parking lot. Cost is $26 for 15 pounds, $44 for 30 pounds. Raspberries are sold in containers at a cost of $29 for 14 pounds and $51 for 28 pounds. individually quick frozen raspberries cost $41 for 20 pounds. The pick-up date for raspberries will be Saturday, July 14, 3-6 p.m. Blueberries are sold fresh in a 10-pound box for $23. They'll be ready on Saturday, August 4, 3- 6 p.m. Place orders with any South Whidbey Rotary member or by mail to Strawberry-Raspberry Sale, P.O. Box 970, Freeland 98249.
