Fire district seeks disaster actors

"If you've ever wanted to be an actor but have no particular talent, Fire District 3 has a job for you.The district needs actors and other volunteers to help with its annual disaster drill which this year will be held Tuesday, June 19 from 1 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m.Lieutenant Jerry Beck said 50 people are needed to act as children and parents in the disaster drill. The job description lists skills required as none. Preferred ages are 18 to 60 years old.The drill will be held outdoors rain or shine. All emergency agencies in Island County will be participating. It looks and feels real but it is not -- come and have some fun, said Beck.To volunteer, call FD 3 secretary Paula Schuler at the district office, 321-1533. If you get the answering machine just leave your name and number and the best time to reach you. You will be called back, said Beck. "
