Parks Department offers gymnastics classes

"Kids this summer can tumble, leap, balance and flip as they learn some basic gymnastics in a new course being offered by South Whidbey Parks and Recreation.Former club and state gymnast Amy Soltys will teach the classes, which will be held in the South Whidbey High School gym on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for two weeks beginning July 17. A second session will start on July 31. (Times are yet to be determined.) Students will do stretching, body movement, floor exercise and tumbling. They will also learn skills on the balance beam and springboard. The classes are open to ages three to 13, with gymnasts grouped according to age and skill. Cost for each session of six classes is $45. Call the Parks Department at 221-5484 for details and to register. "
