"Starting this fall, sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade tennis players will have their own program at Langley Middle School. For six weeks starting Sept. 10, tennis instructors Karyle Kramer and Teresa Wheeler will teach LMS netters the skills they need to improve their game and how to compete with good sportsmanship.During the first two weeks of play, advanced players will buddy with beginners and will help teach the fundamentals of the game. During the remaining four weeks, players will practice and play matches. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up for the program, which will practice Mondays and Wednesdays at the South Whidbey High School tennis courts from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. The cost of the program is $30. Scholarships are available. All players receive a team T-shirt.The program also needs parent volunteers to serve as coordinators for each mini-team in the program. To sign up for this class, or to volunteer, e-mail Karyle Kramer or Teresa Wheeler; or call 221-8344 or 321-8499. "
