"Freeland resident Clare Bauer points out a symbol that was spray painted on his car by vandals.Matt Johnson / staff photoTwo recent incidents of vandalism have prompted a Mutiny Bay man to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of the people who spray painted one of his cars and punctured a tire of another. Clare Bauer said this week that damage to his cars feels like a personal attack. On Wednesday, he walked outside his Mutiny Sands Lane house to find gray and gold spray paint covering one side of his father's Buick Regal Coupe. Three weeks before that, a vandal punctured one of four new tires on his Lincoln in the middle of the night. Bauer said the spray painting incident probably also happened at night, most likely late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Taken together, the two occurrences seem to be more than a little malicious mischief. This has gone too far, he said. The point of it is I've been violated. After contacting the Island County Sheriff's Office this week, Bauer decided to put up a $250 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever damaged the two cars.Anyone with information about the vandalism should call 911 and leave their tips for Deputies Dan Todd and Rob Davison.
