WSF: Labor Day is not a travel problem
June 25, 2008 · Updated 4:43 PM
Ferry travelers on the Clinton/Mukilteo and Keystone/ Port Townsend routes should note that on Monday, Labor Day, Washington State Ferries will be on their regular weekday schedule.
Labor Day is not a big holiday for us, said WSF spokeswoman Susan Harris-Huether.
Generally speaking, Harris-Huether said, many of the routes in Puget Sound typically see Sunday as their biggest holiday travel day, not Monday. In order to get children ready to go back to school, parents often return home from this holiday weekend on Sunday.
Of the 10 ferry routes in Puget Sound, Harris-Huether said only three routes will observe a holiday schedule: the Seattle/Bremerton auto ferry, the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route and the Point Defiance/ Tahlequah route.
All other routes will operate on regular weekday schedules.
