The Orcas Vikings hosted Summit on Friday, Dec. 22, falling short of a victory, 61-45. The Vikings had difficulty getting into a rhythm which ultimately led them to poor shooting percentage.
Thaddeus Gincig was the Vikings' high scorer for the night with posting 13 points, including back-to-back shots from downtown.
Josh Mayson contributed 10 points to Orcas' cause, pulling down seven rebounds, including three offensive boards. Willie Clancy was busy on both sides of the court, draining a crazy eight points while ripping eight rebounds.
Kyle Wahlberg added six points for Orcas, along with two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Joe Sumrall added four points, while Mark Wulff racked up three points. Chris Troutman added two rebounds and a point. The Vikings then set out to a tournament on Dec. 28 and 29 in Anacortes. Results were not available when The Sounder went to press. The Vikings resume league play on Jan. 2, 2007 when they host the La Conner Braves at 5:30 p.m.
