Governor to make official visit to Whidbey

The Island County Economic Development Council will host a visit by Gov. Christine Gregoire later this month.

The governor will attend a luncheon hosted by the EDC at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 21 in the commons at Coupeville High School. Representatives from chambers of commerce on Whidbey will also attend.

According to the EDC, Gov. Gregoire will make remarks and take questions from the audience.

Islanders who wish to attend should call 360-678-6889 to RSVP.

The governor is also scheduled to make a campaign stop in Langley on the same day at 2 p.m.

Gregoire will stop at Useless Bay Coffee Company for a rally with supporters before a short tour of town to meet with local merchants.
