An out-of-towner and a South Whidbey woman won the Langley shopping sweepstakes prizes at an announcement May 24.

Langley Main Street Association held the drawing for the Blooming Sweepstakes and Bingo grand prize on Saturday at Boy and Dog Park. The winners of the sweepstakes, Karin Parish of Clinton and Anne Brixner of Seattle, each won $500 for shopping in Langley. The Blooming Sweepstakes required a $20 purchase to receive a raffle ticket. Parish came prepared with a bag full of tickets.

The Bingo winner was Linda Good of Langley, who took home more than $900 in Langley store gift certificates. Bingo players had to make a purchase at shops to create a bingo on their cards. Good filled out more than 10 cards during the game period which began in January.

The contests were held during the construction of Second Street to bring people to town.
