Whidbey ROV team hosts fundraiser

Atlantis Inc., an underwater remotely operated vehicle team that was the runner-up at the 2014 MATE Pacific Northwest regional competition, is holding a fundraiser Saturday, June 14, for a trip to attend the Black Sea ROV International Competition in Romania this August.

Several performers will be at St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods Episcopal Church in Freeland, including dancer Melyssa Smith, the Shifty Sailors, acoustic group The Barriotiques and musician Beverly Graham.

Atlantis Inc. was invited to give the opening keynote address at the competition in Constanta, Romania, after winning the Pacific Northwest regional in 2013 and receiving the “biggest bang for the buck” award for cost efficiency.

The fundraiser has two options for attendance — $5 for the dinner at 5:30 p.m. and $10 for the performances at 7. There will also be a silent auction.
