Whidbey General reviews districts

Whidbey General Hospital is undergoing an redistricting process.

Required after every census, it will not affect the current sitting commissioners. According to a presentation created by Trish Rose, hospital spokeswoman, the purpose is to balance the population in each of the five districts, and to ensure future hospital board commissioner candidates live within the appropriate district.

The presentation says the goal population for each district is 12,569 people.

The board will discuss the proposed redistricting plan at a meeting 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the conference room at Whidbey General Hospital.
