Rep. Rick Larsen put the brakes to his Republican challenger's hopes of heading to the nation's capitol Tuesday.

Statewide, Larsen has 54,598 votes to former Snohomish County sheriff Rick Bart's 35,806.

Democrats Glen Johnson and Doug Schaffer trailed far behind with 4,797 and 3,020 votes respectively.

The 2nd Congressional District includes parts of King and Snohomish counties and all of Skagit, San Juan, Island and Whatcom counties.

This was Larsen's fifth win since 2000.
