Gallon of gas finally falls below $4 on South Whidbey

The cost of a gallon of regular gasoline on South Whidbey has finally dropped below $4.

The Exxon station in Bayview on Highway 525 lowered the price of regular gas to $3.99 on Thursday. It’s the first time since May 21 – a stretch of 73 days – that the cost of a gallon of regular gas was below the $4 mark on the South End.

According to AAA Washington, the current average cost of a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.95.

One year ago today, the average cost of a gallon of regular gasoline in Washington was $2.81.
