Commissioners for the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District will discuss an updated budget from ORB Architects related to the proposed $15.2 million aquatic and recreation center tonight.

Earlier this month, district commissioners voted on a 20-year bond to pay for the center. The tax levy impact will add 17.3 cents per $1,000 of assessed property tax value to property owners over the next 20 years.

If the measure passes on Nov. 4, the recreation and aquatic center will be built next to the Community Park's entrance on Maxwelton Road.

Other topics include a request from the French Soccer Academy for access to park facilities, an upcoming community forum in Clinton and the budget for Trustland Trails.

The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the South Whidbey Community Health Services building, 5475 Maxwelton Road in Langley.
