Aug. 25

5:12 a.m. — A motorcycle rider hit a deer at Highway 525 and Harbor Avenue in Freeland. The rider had a road rash, but didn’t appear to be seriously injured. The deer was killed.

9:02 a.m. — A man on Possession Road is looking for the owner of a boat that bumped into and damaged his boat at a mooring in July.

9:25 a.m. — A suspicious SUV was reported on Sunlight Beach Road. The caller said it arrives after dark and is gone by daylight.

10:22 a.m. — A caller on Winns Hollow Lane reported getting threatening phone calls from a woman.

10:36 a.m. — An apparently abandoned red Cadillac was reported in a Freeland parking lot. It has been there since Aug. 21.

11:21 a.m. — Dispatchers heard lots of yelling between a man and woman before the line went silent. On callback, a man said his wife was yelling at her children.

1:05 p.m. — Someone found a small fireproof box in the weeds on the side of the road in the 4800 block of Berg Road. It was white or beige, with a black handle.

1:13 p.m. — A generator was stolen from outside a building in the 6400 block of Old Pietila Road.

1:22 p.m. — A Freeland restaurant reported a break-in and said items were missing.

1:29 p.m. — A tree fell onto power lines and started smoking in the 2400 block Sanctuary Lane near Goss Lake.

3:07 p.m. — Someone in the 3000 block of Saratoga Road said two crab pots were taken from the water off Baby Island sometime on Friday,

Aug. 21, and the caller heard a boat about 5:30 a.m. that day.

3:31 p.m. — A newer white Cadillac was traveling erratically at a high speed and the driver was passing other vehicles illegally near Highway 525 and Maxwelton Road.

3:33 p.m. — A man on Hillis Drive said his wife stole his blue minivan and his computer.

4:18 p.m. — A caller reported a minor accident between an Island County vehicle and a small blue pick-up truck pulling a trailer at Cultus Bay Road and Campbell Road. No one was hurt and everybody involved was reportedly walking around.
